Big Sister Samantha Scheer and Little Sister Alana

Big and Little Sis
Big Sister Samantha Scheer and her Little Sister Alana have been matched for 4 ½ years. Samantha has helped Alana overcome many obstacles throughout the course of their friendship, and has also helped to keep Alana on the right track. From providing emotional support, to helping her get a job that enabled Alana to buy her first car this year, Samantha has been an exceptional figure in Alana’s life. Samantha has encouraged Alana to go to college, and she will attend Monmouth University this fall. Samantha and Alana have attended many of our events over the years, and Samantha speaks often of how great it is to have watched Alana mature and grow.

Big and Little Sis
“These last few years with Alana have been a life-changing experience for me” said Samantha. “Spending time with such a beautiful young soul has brought happiness, more responsibility, and maturity to my life. I have heard and witnessed some of the extremely tough times Alana has endured and it helped give me a sense of purpose. Alana has impacted my life for the better. I feel like I am the lucky one to have her in my life”

Alana commented, “Sam has been a very important person in my life for the past 4 years. She is very kind, and caring to everyone around her. To me she is my best friend and I look up to Sam so much. I am able to talk to her about anything, and she has done so much for me and even my family. We have done many things together such as karaoke, baking, carving pumpkins, paddle boarding, white water rafting, and much more. Samantha has made such a positive impact in my life and has helped me with many things like searching for college and even just talking to me when I am upset. She has given me such good advice and does all she can to help me and support me. She tries to attend my swimming events as much as she can as well as my softball games. She is my best friend and I hope that she is someone that is a part of my life for a long time.”
